10.09.10

Three hits, combined with 8 walks, were enough for DOOR Neptunus to beat L&D Amsterdam 3-0 and take a 2-1 lead in the Holland Series.

Kevin Heijstek went 6.1 innings; scattering 8 hits (one double) to register the win. Dushan Ruzic saved the game allowing only a double to Wesley Connor to open the 8th. Ben Grover (L) started for the Pirates and lasted only 2.1 innings. He walked five. Frank van Heijst replaced Grover after he allowed the first Rotterdam hit. Raily Legito batted in Eugene Kingsale, who opened the frame with a walk. Kingsale stole second and advanced to 3rd on an error by Grover.
Jeffrey Arends, who walked, had scored the first Neptunus run on a wild pitch in the 2nd.

Catcher Mourik Huijser, who opened the 5th with a double to left, scored the 3rd run. Manager Charles Urbanus decided not to pitch to Eugene Kingsale. The next batter (Benjamin Dille) doubled in Huijser.
