Mr.Cocker HCAW trailed by 2 when the 9th inning started. A very questionable pitching change by acting ADO-manager Michael Martha, combined with 5 errors, opened the floodgates and the score went from 4-2 to 4-8.
Bobby Carrington had allowed only 4 hits over 8 complete innings, when he opened the 9th with a walk to Randy Daal. Michael Martha decided not to bring the reliever from the bullpen, but summoned shortstop Frans Richardson to the mound. Wuilliuans Vasquez greeted him with a single. When Dirimo Chavez lifted the ball to right field, ADO right fielder Urvin Redan called “I got it” and dropped the ball. Daal scored 4-3 on the play. A fielding error of second base man Berti Richardson loaded the bases. ADO had several chances to make force outs at home plate, but errant throws of shortstop Anthony Vrolijk and Berti Richardson led to 3 more runs. In the end Mr. Cocker HCAW had sent 11 batters to the plate and scored 6 runs on only one hit, a force out and a bases loaded walk. Martijn Riphagen finished the game for ADO and Frans Richardson ended the game as second base man.
Joran Klarenbeek pitched 3 2/3 innings in relief (3 hits and 2 walks) and got the win. Starter Joey Eype had some control problems, especially in the 6th, when he walked three batters (one intentionally) in a row. All three led to runs for ADO.
Against Sparta/Feyenoord ADO also brought in a relief pitcher from the infield and that did cost them that game. It appears that ADO does not have enough pitching for so many games.
